ちなみにシモンズさんの指すディープセルフって魂の事を指しています。ホグツバイトの原石は、アストロフィライトに含有されるエジリンのような感じですね。手にした感想ですが、フェナカイトの波動を感じつつグラウンディングの作用もあるのですが、眉間に貼り付けてみるとシモンズさんの言うように、自己の本質とつながりやすくなりますね。
端的に言うと、従来のフェナカイトのように強烈にサードアイを刺激するという感じとは異なって、穏やかにルートチャクラとサードアイ&クラウンチャクラが活性化されてハートに落ち着くという感じですね。この波動であれば、ある意味石の初心者の方が手にしても良いような気がします。とはいえ、グラウンディングは大事なので自己責任で行ってください。ただ、全く浄化していない方だと魂とつながるのには時間がかかるとは思います。でも、この時代のタイミングですので、ある時期が来て一気に目覚める設定で生まれてきている方は、そうなる可能性もありますね。目に見える物質世界と精神世界を結合するというのは、自身をクリアにしていってつながるということになります。ホグツバイトという鉱物が、フェナカイトと同じベリリウムを含有していながら、地球という物質世界とをつないでくれるという感じで、独特の役割を担っていると思います。ちと、翻訳で何時間も座っていて疲れたので、とりあえずは、説明はこの辺にしておきます。温泉にでも行って来ようかなと（笑）

Norwegian Phenacite is a newly re-discovered material from Nordland County near the Arctic Circle in Norway. When I say "rediscovered" I am indicating that the mineral deposit was originally uncovered by geological survey performed in the 1980s.
However, there was never any mining done until 2023, when some intrepid Scandanavian friends of ours chartered a helicopter and trav- eled to the remote region where these stones were found. The expedition was almost a failure, but just as the explorers were ready to give up the search, one of them noticed an old and faded signpost that marked the site. After several hours of fever- ish digging, the helicopter took off with the three men and a small cargo of the rare and powerful Phenacite ore. We were fortunate to be granted the first opportunity to acquire this new Phenacite, and to delve into its energetic properties.
Norwegian Phenacite is a highly complex stone. It occurs in granitic gneiss which contains no less than twenty other minerals, both common and rare. The most prominent and important mineral that is found with the exceptionally pure Phenacite in these specimens is the extremely rare beryllium member of the aenigmatite group known as Hogtuvaite. Hogtuvaite gets its name from Mount Hogtuva, the most prominent geographical feature in the Nordland region where it was found. It was first recognized as a mineral in 1990, making it a relatively “new” material in minerological circles. Hogtuvaite is only found in Norway, and it is typically present with Phenacite, as it is in our Norwegian Phenacite stones.
The appearance of the Norwegian Phenacites displays an interesting mixture of light and dark shades. The lighter portion is the true Phenacite, and the black areas are the Hogtuvaite. The Hogtuvaite looks like thin veins of black within the lighter rock, and in some places they appear as individual thin crystals or feathery "sprays."
The Phenacite portion of these stones pre- dominates, and is the first energy one usually feels when one begins tuning in to them. Initially, there is the familiar high vibration and inner light that I have long associated with other types of Phenacite. There is also the feeling—a feature of many Phenacites that this stone conveys access to multiple dimensions, allowing one to travel among the inner realms. Norwegian Phenacite stimulates the crown and third eye chakras, as do all types of Phenacite. However, these stones also activate the root chakra, and their strongest place of resonance is at the heart. This is unusual for Phenacites, and I attribute this to the presence of Hogtuvaite. There is a "depth" to these stones that insists on being recognized, and it is this depth resonance that seems to make these stones so powerful. Norwegian Phenacite is not for flying around playfully among the fairies. It is for finding the inner union of Light and Dark that leads to wholeness and the awaken- ing of the Deep Self-our True Nature.
As I have often observed, there are frequently symbolic similarities between the material aspects of stones and their spiritual qualities. First and foremost, the appearance of Norwegian Phenacite displays a mixture of light and dark colors. There is an immediate sense that this is a stone which simul- taneously embodies and stimulates the unbreakable bond between polarities, and their transcendent union. I feel this in their vibration, which stimu-
lates both the top and the bottom of the chakra system, but most powerfully resonates in the heart, where own qualities of Light and Dark can come together.
Even the geographic location where the stones are found illustrates this. Nordland County in Norway is on the edge of the Arctic Circle. At the peak of summer, there are days when there are twenty-four hours of sunlight, while in the depths of winter there are nights when there are twenty- four hours of darkness. In the other seasons, these extreme polarities moderate and blend. What a perfect place to discover the Phenacites that hold the corresponding spiritual polarities!
Because these Phenacites are only found in Norway, I looked for correspondences in Norse mythology. There I found the myth of Baldur and Hodur. Baldur and Hodur were sons of Odin and Frigg. Baldur is primarily associated with light, and is beloved by his fellow gods for his beauty, wisdom, and peaceful nature. His brother Hodur was a blind god associated with darkness and winter. In the myth, blind Hodur was deceived by the trickster god Loki into shooting a mistle- toe arrow, which Loki had caused to be aimed at Baldur. Enraged at seeing this, Odin then caused a wrathful entity he begat by mating with a giantess to kill Hodur.
Thus Hodur, the god of darkness, accidentally slew his brother Baldur, god of light, after which he, too, was killed. The story parallels how the winter's cold and darkness “slays” the summer's warmth and light. In the case of Baldur and Hodur, the myth looks far into the future, saying that the brothers will return to life, with their eventual union being a symbol of the new age of peace. We might compare that to the coming of spring, or, in spiritual terms, to the transcendent union of opposites that gives rise to the Deep Self.
This myth, which originated in the land where these new stones were found, resonates on many levels, and can be correlated with the spiritual pat- terns of Norwegian Phenacite. The myth describes the gods (aka: the "energies") of light and darkness in a polarized relationship. The polarization of light and darkness and their eventual reconciliation echo the places in our subtle bodies where the stones (which are visually a mixture of light and darkness) resonate most strongly. The root chakra, stimulated by the Hogtuvaite, links us with Earth and its dark interior, while the pure Phenacite connects with the crown chakra and the light of Heaven. The synergy of the two minerals in a single stone power- fully vibrates the heart, where the union of Heaven and Earth (aka the union of Light and Dark) can manifest. We could even say that the two minerals composing the stone are "brothers," because both of them are "offspring" of beryllium.
I want to say a bit more about what I feel the energies of Norwegian Phenacite symbolize and activate within us. The conflict between oppo- sites is a fundamental dynamic in our psyches, as the great psychoanalyst and alchemist Carl Jung taught. If we look at the opposites of light and darkness, they are comparable to our conscious and unconscious aspects. Consciousness and being awake have long been associated with light, and darkness has been linked with unconsciousness and sleep. (In the myth, the brother Hodur, sym- bolizing the unconscious, lives in darkness—he is blind.)
Bringing these two polarities together in oneself is of great value. Through its reunion with the uncon- scious, the conscious self gains access to many essential memories and psychological patterns that were forgotten or suppressed, and ultimately to the vast wisdom of the collective unconscious. Simultaneously, the unconscious (or subconscious) self is healed of its blindness. (Through partner- ship with the conscious self, the unconscious self is able to experience life and the world directly.) This union, when it occurs, makes us whole, and our Deep Self (aka True Nature) manifests. This won- drous event parallels the "rebirth" of Baldur and Hodur and their partnership in a new age of peace. When one becomes whole and identifies with the Deep Self, true inner peace exists.
I was surprised and excited to find that a myth from Norway held the pattern I sensed in the vibrational qualities of the Norwegian Phenacite.
One reason for my excitement was the resemblance of this pattern to one found in alchemy.
One of Jung's key ideas regarding alchemy and the light it can shed on our psycho-spiritual poten- tial is known as Conjunction. Jung's final book was titled Mysterium Coniunctionus (The Mystery of Conjunction), and he is said to have worked on it for thirty years. In essence, Conjunction occurs when two opposing substances, qualities, forces or energies combine to form a new material or inner state of being that is far superior to the original components. The myth of Baldur and Hodur, with its foretelling of their eventual reappearance together, ushering in a new age of peace, is describ- ing the pattern of Conjunction in mythic terms. I bring this up because, in my view and in my inner experience with this new stone, Norwegian Phenacite vibrationally supports the subjective experience of Conjunction within one's awareness. As I have noted, the pure Phenacite component of these stones holds the polarity of consciousness and light, while the Hogtuvaite carries the depth ener- gies associated with darkness and the subconscious. Both sides are powerful, resonating at the top of bottom of our chakra system. But the strongest energy I experience is their Conjunction in the
heart.
The heart is the center of soul and wisdom within us. When it awakens, we have experienced Conjunction, and the "new material" of our the Deep Self/True Nature solidifies. This brings a shift of our sense of identity, and we then live and act directly from the heart. This is the state of being to which all mystical traditions aspire, and it is profoundly supported by Norwegian Phenacite.
On a somewhat less esoterically exaulted level, I can say that Norwegian Phenacite powerfully stimulates the crown chakra, the root chakra and the heart chakra. It activates the capacity for vision- ary experience and interdimensional travel, while simultaneously providing a grounding influence that will enable one to remember one's experi- ences in higher vibrational realms, and to put the lessons one learns there into practice. It helps one achieve simultaneous inner stillness and awareness of energy while in meditational. It activates one's innate higher intelligence, and it can facilitate the emergence of psychic powers and intuitive capacities.
The state of combined stillness and energy that Norwegian Phenacite helps one to access can aid one in connecting with one's soul identity. As one meditates with this stone and feels its vibrational influence, one can direct one's attention and inten- tion towards the soul, inviting it to come in for a "visit" with the earthly identity. When it occurs, it is a deeply joyful event, and one will most likely wish to repeat it. Using these stones to build the vibrational bridge from the earthly personality to the soul, one can have repeated contacts, leading to an ecstatic relationship, as the personality and the soul begin to unite. When this is carried to its com- plete fulfilment with the emergence of one's deep Self/True Nature, that is spiritual Conjunction.
On the emotional level, Norwegian Phenacite can be a profound influence towards inner peace. It can be used to review and heal old wounds to the psyche. It encourages strength of character and an adherence to truth. It helps one to become whole by bringing parts of oneself that one has judged harshly back into one's heart. Through its balancing influence on the psyche, it encourages kindness, compassion and generosity.
On the physical level, Norwegian Phenacite provides vibrational support to the heart, lungs, nervous system and the immune system. It encour- ages harmony and balance on the cellular level and its energies may even benefit proper mitochondrial function. (I have no objective way of knowing this, but it is what the stone "tells" me.)
All in all, Norwegian Phenacite offers a benevo- lent and wholesome influence to one's body, emo- tions, soul and spirit. Its recent emergence is timely, because its qualities are much needed, and it can aid those of us who love stones and also wish to evolve spiritually.
